In the 61st century, entertainment is underdeveloped. Then the Perfect Reality Show comes out of nowhere, taking the interstellar world by storm within two years and earning a reputation as the most realistic variety show ever.
A-list actors from all walks of life are sent into fully realistic virtual worlds, where their memories are sealed and they begin playing their roles.
But in truth, none of the actors have lost their memories.
They know full well that everything they do will be placed under the spotlight and magnified for the audience to scrutinize. They carefully cultivate their public personas, whether kind, sincere, or flawless. They use “true love” to win over the protagonists of each world and their character to capture the audience's hearts, constantly showing off their personal charm. Even when handed a terrible script, they have to swallow their pride and force themselves to keep up their kind persona.
Jiang Miao was a fish that slipped through the net, somehow selected for the Perfect Reality Show.
Unlike everyone else, he really had lost his memory, and thought the script in his head was a transmigrate into a book mission.
Jiang Miao, after transmigrating into a book, was stunned:
He had devoted his entire life to the righteous cultivation sect, doing everything he could to protect the whole sect when the demonic cultivators attacked. But he alone couldn't get away to rescue his young disciple, who was in danger outside the sect.
The disciple returned after narrowly escaping death, hating him to the core. “Master, you did right by everyone in the world, but you let me down!”
Jiang Miao felt guilty for abandoning his disciple for the sect and nearly fell to the demonic path. From then on, he spent his life making sacrifices for his disciple, yet still felt it wasn't enough.
After waking up, Jiang Miao had three questions: Did I drive you outside the sect? Was your life more important than the lives of every disciple in the sect? Why hate me alone? Why not go after the demonic cultivators?
Then he remembered that he had raised and cared for his disciple since childhood. Now the kid felt nothing but hatred and no gratitude at all. Jiang Miao couldn't help thinking his disciple was an ungrateful brat. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. Right then and there, he questioned his disciple and brought up the old grievances, then gave him a hands-on lesson in respecting his master.
The audience watching outside the show: “???”
How can you be like that?
But why does this feel... kind of satisfying?
Viewers who had never seen a wish-fulfillment story were stunned.
Heads-up: Multiple worlds, quick transmigration, face-slapping wish fulfillment, possibly a reverse harem
