My Ring Spirit Is a Transmigrator

Wan Qing is a once-in-a-million useless spirit root, born with little talent for cultivation. By sheer luck, she gets into the greatest sect under heaven, only to become an outer disciple nobody pays attention to. Then one day, she finds an antique ring with a ring spirit inside. It isn't the legendary white-bearded old man, but a lazy young man with flirtatious eyes. Before long, however, Wan Qing realizes there's something a little off about this ring spirit... Other people's ring spirits: "Young man, your talent is extraordinary. I'll take you on as my disciple!" Her ring spirit: "Don't call me Master. Call me big brother." Other people's ring spirits: "Don't be afraid, my disciple. Your Master will teach you an unrivaled secret technique to defeat your enemy!" Her ring spirit: "Kick him in the crotch!" Could you please shut up? The whole thing is so bizarre that Wan Qing can't help looking through historical records. She discovers that this guy really was a peerless powerhouse and genius from several hundred years ago, the kind whose cultivation surged with every breath and who could ascend to immortality at any moment. So how did someone like that die? The ring spirit with the peach-blossom eyes: "Actually, I transmigrated here from a thousand years in the future. I did the math, and with my talent, I would've ascended before they even invented phones. How could I accept that? I hadn't even reached King rank yet! So I slapped myself to death and decided to sleep for a few hundred years, then find some random Mahayana cultivator to rebuild my body." Wan Qing: "...Who are you going to find?" The ring spirit with the peach-blossom eyes: "Why, you, of course!" Wan Qing, who has only just reached the second level of Qi Refining: "..." "I'm out of here!" "Ah, it's so lonely being an empty-nest elder. There's no one I can tell the password to the Treasure Pavilion..." "I'll do anything for you, Senior!" Cultivation progression, feel-good story, silly comedy, past and present lives. Theme: Science and technology are the primary productive forces
