Indra had a fight with Asura over something, and that old Sage of Six Paths was playing favorites again. Indra decided to leave home and run away.
But things never go as planned. He transmigrated, and even became some kind of guardian spirit?!
After seeing his chakra reincarnations get whisked away one after another by his own little brother's reincarnation, Indra refused to inherit Ninshu. (Ninshu belonged to Asura anyway, so what did it have to do with him?)

Then Madara Uchiha (Indra) got stabbed again.
[Hah, when you need me, you call me your destined one, but when you don't, you abandon me after seducing me.]
Hashirama Senju: I didn't! I swear! (shaking his head frantically)
Indra: ...Asura and all his chakra reincarnations are crazy!
I have to stay away from Asura's line! I have to!
Later, Indra became Sasuke Uchiha,
and Sasuke Uchiha (Madara Uchiha/Indra) decided to stay far away from Asura's reincarnation (Naruto). But this reincarnation was really persistent.
