She only had to softly say that it hurt, and his ears and neck turned crimson. Flustered, he stammered, "Miss, I'm... I'm sorry."

Dr. Qi is so lucky. He earned merit during an epidemic, and now he's about to become the prefect's son-in-law!

Yun Jingmo is quite pleased.

Her husband is gentle and capable, and never causes trouble.

There's one more thing she keeps to herself: she loves most how her husband blushes and softly coaxes her whenever she teases him until he can't take it.

So handsome and so obedient. Content, Yun Jingmo drifts off to sleep.

Who knew that night she'd wake up in young Dr. Qi's body!

There are daggers under the pillow, poison in the purse, and all kinds of fresh and old knife and arrow wounds on his body.

Th-this... Is this really her gentle, sweet, adorable little Dr. Qi?

Yun Jingmo stays calm and watches in secret.

Until one day, she sees her husband in a short tunic with tight sleeves, holding a long sword and looking fierce. Every gesture and word exudes the bearing of someone in command.

Then he kills his enemy with his own hands. Blood covers him, and when he turns toward her, he is cold and merciless.

Yun Jingmo: Sorry to bother you, but you're not my sweet, adorable little Dr. Qi. I'm scared, I'm out of here~

A certain Dr. Qi hastily grabs her, instantly casting off his murderous aura. Like a little cat who's just been petted, he murmurs, "Mo'er..."

He lowers his eyes and pulls her into his arms, docile and ready to be teased, looking utterly aggrieved.
