Two friends with extraordinary skills arrive in bustling, prosperous J City with what little money they have, hoping to make a living. They take in a few little kids who have also ended up there with nowhere to go and nothing to eat, and make them their apprentices. They hope that one day the kids will soar to fame and become well-known across J City, so they'll be able to support them in their old age. The kids grow up, master their skills, and become famous across J City. The fourth apprentice in particular becomes incredibly popular. Their masters are so proud! They can finally rest easy, knowing the fourth won't go hungry anymore. But then the masters think, our ancestors have given us a livelihood, so we can't let it die out in our hands. They tell the kids, “You can take on apprentices now, too! Go on! Make the name of our De Yi Hall shine even brighter!” The masters never could have imagined that their reputation would spread, they'd make money and gain fame, and the youngest apprentice would even find a life partner along the way. What a way to kill several birds with one stone!
