Zhong Jiarou was born into a distinguished family. She was both talented and beautiful.
She should have married into the imperial family, but her clan wanted no part in the struggle for the throne. So she was forced to marry Qi Yue, the youngest son of a newly risen family.
The Qi family had been farmers for generations. After saving the emperor's life, they were ennobled and moved to the capital. Their manners had yet to catch up with their new status, and their nouveau riche behavior often made them the laughingstock of the aristocratic families.
At a banquet, someone deliberately provoked Qi Yue: "Your beautiful bride-to-be has never lifted a finger to do a day's work. Her legs are so weak she probably can't even stand. How will she manage your family's ten thousand mu of farmland after you marry?"
Qi Yue had sharp brows and bright eyes, but a vicious tongue.
"I don't care what kind of pampered girl she is. Once she enters the Qi household, she'll have to work on the farms."
On their wedding night, the beauty beneath her veil had red-rimmed eyes.
The moment Qi Yue lifted the red veil, he was stunned by her beauty. But he remained cool as he laid down the rules: "Even if you're beautiful, I won't go soft on you. After we marry, you'll spend some time adapting to life on the estate. You need to get rid of those aristocratic airs."
Zhong Jiarou, eyes red, didn't answer.
Qi Yue sat down on the wedding bed, ready to consummate the marriage.
Zhong Jiarou suddenly kicked him hard.
Qi Yue tumbled straight to the floor in shock. He grabbed her slender ankle and, staring at that stretch of snow-white skin, laughed in disbelief. "Too weak to stand? Who the hell started that rumor?"
Qi Yue was free-spirited and rough around the edges. His motto in life: there's nothing money and a good fight can't solve. He knew Zhong Jiarou hated that he lusted after her beauty, and that she treated every night together as nothing more than a wife's duty.
The day the emperor flew into a rage, the entire Zhong clan was plunged into peril. The powerful families who had once been their friends all abandoned the Zhong household to save themselves.
Zhong Jiarou stood with tears on her lovely face as Qi Yue bent his tall frame to shield her from the flames. "Don't cry. I'll bring you the emperor's head!"
Clever flower x country bumpkin
Proud noblewoman x wolfish, unhinged young general
●In a turbulent era, I will defend my country and protect you. "My storehouses overflow with grain, and so does my heart."
·I'm terrible at writing blurbs, so here's a character tag:
Male lead: 20, heir to a marquis's estate. A dashing, free-spirited young man, with no exes and a clean romantic history. He takes on the world outside, but is devoted to his wife at home. Of course, the finest things in the world should be won and given to his wife. A country bumpkin at first, he later becomes a regent/general.
Female lead: 16, a noblewoman from an aristocratic family, a beauty with skin like jade. She cries if handled too roughly and is weak, with just enough strength to slap her husband. She has an ex who was her first love, but gradually falls in love with the male lead after marriage. She likes burying her face in the chest of her 1.9-meter-tall husband, but is too shy and restrained, so he has to coax her into it.
My next novel will be A Fragile Beauty's Bones. Please add it to your favorites~
Pei Jin was born in the countryside, with no prestigious family to back him, yet he had the hearts of countless soldiers.
He was determined to conquer the land and claim the throne.
Then he would find the frail concubine who had once plunged a hairpin into his chest and gently called him a worthless country bumpkin.
He would conquer her, then kill her.
-
Shen Youci was forced to marry Pei Jin as a stand-in for a princess.
On their wedding night, he demoted her from wife to concubine.
Pei Jin threw her among the refugees to learn farming and weaving alongside them. "The princess is extravagant and wasteful. She isn't even worthy of being my concubine. I, Pei Jin, don't keep pampered flowers. Only when you give up your royal airs will you qualify to be my concubine."
Though Pei Jin treated her cruelly in every way, she coaxed and tricked him for two years until he fell in love with her.
That night, the wind was gentle and the moon bright.
Pei Jin stroked her rounded belly. "Youci, do you blame me for how I treated you before?"
"I've never blamed you, my husband," Shen Youci replied gently, then turned and drove her hairpin into Pei Jin's chest.
"Why?" Pei Jin's bright eyes went blank with disbelief.
Shen Youci calmly wiped the hairpin clean, slid it into her coiffure, and smiled gently. "Worthless country bumpkin. You really thought you could be loved?"
Black-hearted, jade-skinned beauty x country-bumpkin founding emperor
Marriage first, love later | Coercion | The husband chases his wife in vain
Theme: The brave know no fear
I'm not interested in the characters in the main story, so I only watched this extra episode. It was well written, but I was disappointed after reading it. The ending of a good couple sharing weal and woe. If the two characters were better, it would be good to write a sweet redemption story, but in this episode, the emperor is not worthy, how could he be so despicable? It's beyond recognition.
It looks good. Just take a look and see if I have ordered all the logos [dog head] [dog head]
"Wei Shu nodded and finished washing,..."Catch a big bug for the author~
I feel a little sorry for the second male lead [Heartbroken] Even though he was a bit of a jerk in the later stages, I still like this kind of gentle guy.
Damn, the torture is not deep enough. I beg Huo Zhengyiniang for a double birth line.
Please write another ⅰf line, wishing Xinyi a happy ending
Can the author write that Huo Zheng is reborn and Xin Yi marries someone else, and give Xin Yi a happy ending?
I finished reading it in two days, it was great [hug]
Damn, I miss you so much. What a fat man. It makes me so happy to torture Huo Zheng.
Can I beg for a Xinyi rebirth episode?
