[04] A refined, gentle Chinese teacher x a scheming, proactive younger student studying abroad The first time Shen Mo visited Gu Yan’s home, Gu Yan made him a bowl of chicken soup noodles on the spur of the moment. Shen Mo couldn’t refuse. He ate every last bite, then washed the dishes himself. Before leaving, he remembered to thank him politely: “Thank you for the meal, Mr. Gu.” The second time Shen Mo visited Gu Yan’s home, Gu Yan couldn’t get out of bed the next morning. Shen Mo kissed the edge of Gu Yan’s ear, his voice low and lingering. “Thank you for the meal, Mr. Yan.” (I haven’t settled on names for the gong and shou in this story yet, so I might change them. For now, just get the general idea.) [Reader’s Note] 1. This is a writing exercise. I type slowly, but will try to update daily after it goes premium. If I can’t update, I’ll post a notice. 2.
