A Desert God's Reborn Self-Rescue Handbook [Ancient Egyptian Mythology]

Set is one of the nine Ennead gods of Egypt. He was vile, arrogant, and cruel to his fellow gods, until their fury finally drove them to tear him apart. A miserable end, indeed. Though his divine body died, his soul was imprisoned in the void of the land of the dead. No longer the ambitious god-king who roamed the vast desert and ruled the Egyptian mainland, after millennia of wear and tear he became nothing more than a supporting figure, praising someone else's achievements. And that "someone else" was Osiris, the rival Set had loathed and despised since birth. This fellow god, whom Set had schemed against and tormented time and again, became the only one to remember him after his death, mourning him for millennia. After millennia of companionship, even the irritable, poisonous god couldn't help falling in love. One day, a ray of light shone through the darkness of death. Set's world returned to the light, and he was alive again, back at the moment of his villainous triumph, hammer in hand and about to seal Osiris inside a coffin and drown him. "Brother, I just loved you too much and wanted to keep you hidden away. Before I knew it, things had gone this far," the young god said, stroking the glittering golden coffin lid without changing his expression. "So your golden house is a golden coffin? The kind you nail shut?" Reader's note: This story will be locked for purchase on July 9, and chapters will begin going behind the paywall starting from Chapter 28. 1.
