■■ is a newly regularized employee at the Space-Time Administration.
After spending so long playing an alien mechanical lifeform during his internship that he nearly lost himself, the Main System decided he needed to rediscover what it means to be human.
His partner System picked a safe, spin-off world based on a hot-blooded sports anime. The role he would play was important, but had very little screen time.
His name was: Byodoin Phoenix.
But the moment he logged into the role,
the world fused and leveled up.
In the new world, the Jujutsu world and the psychic world point fingers at each other, insisting that monsters and curses are just made-up nonsense.
The higher-ups of □□ inexplicably become devoted to literature and famous across the literary world.
The newly appearing Beika Town has its own independent time loop.
The sword spirits who are supposed to save humanity end up saving human history.
The new world's kami wants to change everyone's hair color.
And every so often, some old monster from the Heian period shows up...
Byodoin: "...Ha, ha. This world is way too outrageous!" (Not laughing.)
Before he received an invitation to the U-17 training camp,
Byodoin Phoenix's daily routine consisted of playing tennis, catching monsters, and raising a group of sword spirits.
He firmly believed he was just playing an ordinary future leader of the national U-17 tennis team in an ordinary, hot-blooded sports anime.
Byodoin: "Sure, this world has monsters, gods, and people with supernatural powers, but tennis is still scientific. It doesn't glow, have special effects, or knock down walls." [confident.jpg]
Until one day,
Tokugawa Jiro, a new friend from the U-17 training camp, inconsiderately tore open the door to the new world for him.
At their first meeting, a huge black demon loomed behind Tokugawa, baring its claws.
Byodoin: "A vengeful spirit? An evil entity? A curse? Possession?"
Byodoin: "...Hey, Tokugawa, are you okay? Huh? You can't see it? You're covered in black smoke!" [subway, old man, phone.jpg]
