After Opening a Supermarket, I Got a Happy Ending with the Male Lead Who Died Young

When Wei Zhi woke up, she discovered she'd become a pitiful girl whose parents were dead, whose betrothed had drunk himself to death before their wedding, who lived in an empty house, and who was ostracized by everyone.

The world the original Wei Zhi lived in had grown out of a short story Wei Zhi had casually written after waking from a dream.

And according to Wei Zhi's own setting, the male lead, Ruan Li, would be dismissed from his post, stripped of his authority and military command, and, after years of suffering from poison and illness, would die young (by suicide).

By the time she arrived, the male lead was just one step away from dying young.

Wei Zhi: ...

But she also got a little supermarket System.

Looking at the refined, aloof General Ruan Li, whom she'd written to his death, Wei Zhi decided to stock her store and make money to improve their lives, while also embarking on a path to atone for her sins as a terrible author and change the ending.

Later...

People from the same village saw that the orphaned Wei girl they'd driven away wasn't running a noodle shop, but selling something called instant noodles.

Her former in-laws, who'd looked down on the original girl and hated her, discovered that the ill-fated girl had not only sold popping candy that danced on people's tongues beyond the frontier, but had even attracted a foreign prince to work as a stock clerk in her little supermarket.

Even those waiting for Ruan Li to drop dead saw him trade bitter medicine for ice cream, jelly, and lollipops. He not only married a beautiful, clever wife, but also became a prince of a different surname, with even greater power than before.

[After the little supermarket opens in the capital]

Chancellor Zhang: Why are the spicy strips and the colorful, chewy QQ candies sold out again?

The Empress: Princess Consort, the whole harem is fighting over this jelly. How about not limiting the supply?

Wei Zhi: Your Majesty, it's probably best not to cook river-snail rice noodles in your sleeping quarters...
