When the college entrance exam results came out, Chen Shu dumped his first boyfriend, whose score was only enough to get into a vocational school.
Six years later, Chen Shu, once the top scorer in the city, had fallen so far that he was working as a male model in a bar. His ex-boyfriend sat in a private room on the top floor, surrounded by beauties, radiating cold, sharp elegance.
Chen Shu blended in among the male models, hardly noticeable. Yet his ex, now a rising business tycoon, passed over a crowd of handsome men showering him with sweet words and tossed Chen Shu a contract to keep him.
Chen Shu took being a full-time kept man in stride, available at his beck and call in and out of bed, without a single complaint.
On the day the arrangement ended, Chen Shu packed up his few personal belongings and quietly left, knowing when it was time to go.
He returned to the remote countryside that was his home. The old house was low-roofed, the pears were ripe, and cicadas sang in the yard. Everything seemed to have returned to those youthful summer days, still bright and unfaded.
He picked a basket of ripe pears to sell at the market. After crossing the hill by his house, he saw someone who should not have been there at the end of the dirt road.
Dressed in a suit, eyes red, shoes caked in mud.
His ex-boyfriend stood panting in the wind, bedraggled yet stubborn.
Before-you-read notes:
1. Both leads are faithful in body and heart. This is a nontraditional scum top and masochistic bottom story.
2. Both leads have flaws. The main text has more details than the blurb.
3. They dote on each other, with a slight bias toward the top. More to come.
4. Maybe it's a healing story?
