Short Stories of Love Delusion

Xia Li thinks the class monitor hates her. He's always so strict with her, and even when he reprimands her, he says twice as much as he does to everyone else. Of course, Xia Li hates him too. He's fair-skinned and graceful, like a crane standing alone in the world. Everyone praises his cool, noble demeanor. But Xia Li knows he's just pretending to be aloof, and is actually a hypocrite. He's smart, calm, and exceptionally clever. He looks down on ordinary people like Xia Li, and whenever something doesn't go his way, he takes a jab at her. His arrogance and haughtiness are truly infuriating. But one day, she finds a diary bearing the class monitor's name, and sees what's inside... She reads a few pages, immediately shuts it, and puts it back where she found it. She decides it must be someone's prank. Later, while fooling around with a boy, she happens to catch the class monitor's expression. His lips are pressed together and his eyes are red, as if he's about to cry with anger. She walks over to his desk and deliberately strikes up a conversation. He pretends to be aloof and ignores her, but the red spreading across the tips of his ears gives away everything he's feeling. Xia Li suddenly remembers what the diary said: Her class monitor, who acts cold and looks down on her, secretly records everything she does. He even makes a point of noting whenever she says a couple of extra words to a boy. Over and over, he writes about his hurt feelings and love for her, then over and over hopes she'll come to like him, even just a little.
