At age ■■, you realize this is a fictional world, and you're the protagonist.
Your sanity hits zero on the spot. From then on, you're never afraid of Sanity Checks during your dream role-playing sessions.
At 16, you get into Miskatonic University, and somehow end up in "Anthropology - Cultural Anthropology - Witchcraft and Religion."
Your initial inclination was to study literature, but after reading about Miskatonic University's outstanding students, you realize studying literature might be even worse.
That doesn't mean anthropology is any better.
At 25, thanks to rewards from completing campaigns, you've "cheated" your way into becoming a young and promising Miskatonic University professor in some respects, with a total of 660 across all nine attributes. If your Luck ever reaches 21, you can claim the nonexistent "666" achievement. But you know your Luck will never break 20 in this lifetime.
You've arrived at the present timeline, the main storyline chosen by the author.
You're preparing for the ending.
Note: The protagonist is Chaotic Good (probably), though she might also be Neutral Evil. She isn't very Lawful, or perhaps she is Lawful, just not in any ordinary sense.
This story has multiple timelines, each told from a different perspective. The main timeline (the present) is in third person! The second-person blurb and life-restart simulator are because the author doesn't know how to write blurbs.
Lovecraftian horror, breaking the fourth wall, but no punching bubbles or kicking Nyarlathotep. No!
The protagonist's Dark Ancestor trait is maxed out at 1d100. The dice maiden rolled "Child of Yog-Sothoth," and the character's attributes have been adjusted according to the setting of the Lovecraft story "The Dunwich Horror."
The protagonist starts at Sanity 0. She will die at the end. Really die, without coming back to life.
You may well see the protagonist start a combat round in her pajamas, turn Persuade into Intimidate, or pull other stunts that raise the Keeper's blood pressure. All I can say is that, given her character, she really would do that (.)
I won't be following the role-playing rulebooks to the letter, especially not in those dear combat rounds.
Theme: Breaking free of constraints and surpassing yourself (probably)
