"You're a has-been, barely-known entertainer whose family fortune has been seized by your relatives. The person you love only sees you as a stand-in. Eight years later, the real love interest returns as a superstar, and the two of them are soon back together after a love-hate battle. So you're kicked out with nothing..."
"That's way too tragic!" Jiang Nian, who transmigrated into a novel after dying from overwork, protested indignantly. "I strongly demand a plot rewrite!"
"The plot cannot change, or you'll die immediately." The voice continued coldly. "...You lose everything, with only a thirty-million-yuan check from that person and an apartment downtown in your hands. Filled with resentment and unwillingness, you..."
??? You call that having nothing?!
Jiang Nian perked up at once. "Wait! The plot can't change, which means the real love interest leaves, I become the stand-in, the real love interest becomes a superstar and returns, and I get to collect thirty... I mean, get kicked out?"
All right, got it. The plot can't change, but he can still speed things up and try to retire with the money as soon as possible.

When Xie Zhiyue was abandoned by everyone, only Jiang Nian stayed by his side. He concealed his brilliance and willingly remained behind the scenes for him, even going undercover with his archenemy...
After Xie Zhiyue returned to the top, Jiang Nian deliberately acted greedy to make him give up, taking a measly thirty million yuan and trying to leave.
Ha.
"So you only love money, huh?"
Xie Zhiyue stopped the young man. "Two villas, seven or eight apartments, sixty percent of the Xie family's shares, four hundred million in acting fees and endorsements last year... Voted the year's most powerful... no,"
"The year's most valuable movie star, a walking money-making machine, a giant ATM... Jiang Nian," Xie Zhiyue lowered his eyes and straightened the collar of the dumbfounded Jiang Nian. "Next time you confess to me, just be direct. If it's you, I'll say yes."
