On the day the zombie apocalypse began, humanity clung to a tiny bit of hope as it struggled to survive.

After just three short years, the apocalypse finally drew to a close, thanks to those with psychic powers.

Civilization had regressed, the world's population had fallen by 76%, and most resources were gone, but life seemed to have returned to normal.

More than sixty years later, a new "apocalypse" began.

Night after night, nightmares drove generation after generation of post-apocalyptic people to the brink.

Lu Shen woke up and said he'd slept pretty well. He hadn't dreamed about anything.

To ease the crisis, the city's upper echelons introduced full-dive virtual reality technology.

Who could have known that the darkness lurking behind this technology was the real culprit pushing humanity toward the brink of another apocalypse?

The resentful cries and bloody tears of the dead in the darkness drew an invasion from another plane.

The psychics who protected the peace had yet to figure out what to do.

Meanwhile, Lu Shen, a demon, stretched lazily. "Thanks for asking. I really can't stand watching this anymore."

After everything had settled down

Host: Mr. Lu Shen, why did you choose to side against your own race and help humanity save the world?

Lu Shen: I feel personally attacked. What makes you think those monsters and demons are the same species as me? Where's your face?

Host: Then what made you want to save the world, Mr. Lu?

Lu Shen: Actually, it all started with a printer. No, I mean, if the world were destroyed, I'd lose all the fun in my life.

Host: You mean sleeping in and staying home?

Lu Shen: You know too much. :)

Host: One last question. Mr. Lu, do you know why this story has no romance?

Lu Shen: I'm too outstanding. Nobody's good enough for me.

Host: It's because you're so unique that the author can't imagine you dating anyone. (In other words, I'm certain Brother Lu will be single for life!)

A story about a demon secretly saving the world behind the scenes. (P.S. It actually happens twice.)

Important notes:

1. No romance, no romance, no romance.

2. The story takes place more than sixty years after the zombie apocalypse ended. Please don't try to relate it to real life, or I'll have to suspect you're a time traveler from the apocalypse and be tempted to hand my lovely readers over to you. :)

3. There are supposed to be seven arcs, but there might end up being fewer., x

4. I'll do my best to update daily, but if work gets busy and I run out of chapters, I can't help it. Updates at 9 or 11 p.m.

5. It may seem serious, but some parts are actually pretty silly. The invasion from another plane is mostly there for laughs.
