The Sickly Beauty's Secret Identity

P.S. The author's intelligence and writing skills are limited. I'll do my best to tell the story I want to tell, but the style is understated and leans toward everyday life. This is a writing exercise.

Ye Zhen is beautiful. Even though he is a man, there's no denying it. But his health is poor, and he spends his days in a wheelchair. Fortunately, he has powerful connections at court, so he can still live a peaceful life.

This world is mad, yet peaceful. An emperor's fury can leave a million corpses in its wake; demons can weave a heartrending spell and tear out people's hearts; a Confucian scholar can write a single essay that steadies the world's fortunes; a martial general can slay demons and evil spirits from a thousand miles away with one sword. Ghosts in red robes travel with a hundred spirits in tow, and there are even gods who receive offerings from the people and save them from suffering.

Ye Zhen has a secret: he isn't human. He has many identities, and each one belongs to someone important. After his coming-of-age ceremony, something deep within him told him that he had come into this world to find something. Only once he found it would he truly be alive.
