Secret Love

Qiqi has had a secret since high school.

She's never told anyone about it, hiding it carefully all this time, until rumors of Zeng Haiyan and a certain actress spread everywhere.

Qiqi drags Zeng Hao out for drinks. Once she's tipsy, she makes him call her "sis-in-law" over and over.

Late that night, Qiqi rides her buzz to the film set and knocks on Zeng Haiyan's door.

"Zeng Haiyan, you have terrible taste. That woman isn't as pretty as me, her figure isn't as good as mine, and she looks older than I do. What do you see in her?"

Zeng Haiyan can't be bothered talking to a drunk. He takes her to the sofa and sits her down, then turns to get a hot towel. Qiqi grabs the hem of his shirt to stop him from leaving, tears glinting in her eyes.

"Zeng Haiyan, tell me... What do you like about her? I can change, can't I?"

Years later, they meet again on the same film set. She's the leading lady, and he's the director.

By then, Qiqi has cut off the long hair she'd grown for ten years. In a tank top and camouflage pants, she greets him with a bright smile, looking dashing and confident. "Hey, Haiyan."

Zeng Haiyan holds a cigarette between his fingers, his expression calm, showing no sign of anything amiss.

Except that cigarette, which he never smoked, burning from his fingertips straight into his heart.

On the fifth take, Zeng Haiyan watches the monitor as the "Emperor" is about to kiss his "Favorite Consort" and finally loses his patience.

He tosses off his headset, gets up, and scoops Qiqi off the dragon bed where she's lying on her side. Carrying her out, he coaxes her in a soft, pleading voice: "Be good, Qiqi. Let's never take another intimate scene again, okay?"
