After exorcising a curse at Yasohachi Bridge,
the first-years receive a mission from their teacher
to head deep into the mountains and exorcise a curse at the Zezang estate (and recuperate).
During the month of intensive training for the Chunin Exams,
the village receives a protection assignment from the daimyo
to guard the noble Zezang family for a week.
The two groups enjoy a week of friendly exchange.
