In 1429, a young woman named Ranna claimed she had been sent by Heaven. Raising the banner of resistance against the English army, she brought France a victory long denied it. Though she was unfortunately killed by the enemy two years later, her fame spread far and wide, echoing through the ages. She became the brave, steadfast, and innocent martyr known throughout civilization as Joan of Arc.
After her wrongful death, her former comrade Gilles began studying forbidden arts, cursing his enemies in an attempt to reclaim the soul of the woman who had been slandered as a witch.
Five hundred years after the young woman died at the stake, the Catholic Church canonized her. Six hundred years later, Ranna, reborn in a new life, once again feels a summons from a distant time and place...
Ranna: As a Chinese person, I've heard the saying, "Only women and foreigners can lead France to victory." But being treated as the country's sacred guardian beast? I'm speechless.
Gilles: You protect the kingdom, and I'll protect you. Cross out that first part.
Richelieu: In the name of the red-robed cardinal, I shall live out my faith: Long live France!
Anna: I heard my son will become the Sun King... But are you sure he was born to me and my husband? He hasn't slept with me for thirteen whole years, haha.
Gustav: An exchange of equal value? I can do that.
So this is a comedy (?) about a magical girl (?) rescuing her homeland (?), and causing a lot of trouble (?). The author is slowly stockpiling chapters.
Theme: An introduction to seventeenth-century Western European history
