The Absent Office Worker Savior Is Back

High school students aren't all the same. At seventeen, Luo Shiqian buried himself in his studies. His memories were filled with the classroom, dormitory, sports field, and cafeteria, a life confined to four places. At twenty-five, with his dreams shattered, Luo Shiqian revisits his old school, only to discover that he had once missed a secret stretch of time that everyone had kept hidden from him. Because of that secret, Luo Shiqian, who had been absent, became a dull office drone. His friends from those younger days stayed forever in the dark youth of a time when they dreamed of saving the world. Those bright, hopeful young men and women should not have died tragically with their hearts full of passion. The adult Luo Shiqian, left behind, should have been the one to die. A handful of monopolistic conglomerates control everything. The gap between rich and poor widens at a brutal pace. Genes and birth determine one's class, while the public are pushed online and the lower classes turn on one another. Even clean air costs money. If you come from a humble background and refuse to become a tool, that is a heinous crime. Anyone who talks about dreams is a monster. He has no hope for the future and nothing to look forward to. But he is alive. Living a dull, lonely life. "Trade places with the past and let them live." That was Luo Shiqian's wish. And so begins a cyberpunk dark coming-of-age story about a gloomy office drone who must save the world. The real Monster has returned. Theme: Give everything you have to create a miracle. Having dreams is truly remarkable.
