Main story complete.

Advance follows open for Becoming the Dragon Protagonist's Lackey. The blurb is below.

Blurb for this story: Yaya from Stone Village works as a stand-in at Jiuhua Mountain. She stands in for Ruan Qingrong, daughter of the Dousu Immortal Venerable. She gets fine silks and satins, nine bowls at every meal, and two hundred gold ingots every month.

The Dousu Immortal Venerable reminds her: "Remember, you only look like her. You are not her."

Yaya: "Got it, got it. I'm Ruan Ya, and Yaya is my nickname."

Ruan Qingrong's mother says: "You really do look like my daughter."

Yaya: "Then your daughter must be quite a looker. I'm the prettiest girl in Stone Village!"

Ruan Qingrong's fiance says: "Remember your place. Don't entertain any unrealistic fantasies about me."

Yaya: "You're not an ox, so what kind of fantasies would I have about you?"

Yaya never forgets where she came from. All she wants is to save enough money to go home and honor her mother, then buy a big water buffalo for the family so her mother won't have to work so hard plowing the fields in spring.

But the junior disciple at her sect is always murmuring ominously in her ear:

"You're so naive. They're just using you as a stand-in."

"They'll get tired of you sooner or later, and you'll end up with nothing."

"You'd be better off joining forces with me. We could do this and that, and Jiuhua Mountain would be ours for the taking... Besides, my family has an ox."

Yaya admires his honesty. She rises onto her toes and kisses his cheek. "You're so sincere. I like you."

Junior brother: (〃-〃)!!

Later, they discover that Ruan Qingrong is Yaya herself, but they still don't like her as she is. They want to burn away her sinews and bones, erase her memories, and remake her.

The junior brother leaps forward first. A black-scaled flood dragon roars at the sky: "Jiuhua Mountain, be destroyed!"

Yaya: "Yay! I'm going home to raise cattle!"

*

By the ridges in the fields of Stone Village, the former junior brother reaches out to Yaya. "Come with me. My family has an ox."

Yaya: "No way. You're lying. You immortals aren't honest."

He reveals a pair of black horns on his head. "I'm not lying. I'm really an ox."

Yaya: "Bullshit."

*

In the terraced fields, a small black flood dragon sweats profusely as he works. "Yaya, look. Your ox has black skin, four legs, two horns, and one tail. I have those too, so why can't I be an ox? And I can even summon rain. Look..."

"Pfft, pfft, " (spraying water)

Yaya: -_-||

★★★Advance follow: Becoming the Dragon Protagonist's Lackey

Blurb: On the first day after transmigrating into the male-oriented novel Battle Through the Great Heavens, Yan Qiu nervously waits for the book's male lead, Bei Gongyu, to come and take her life with a forty-meter-long blade.

Bei Gongyu isn't an ordinary dragon protagonist. Along with the standard package of a tragic background, outrageous luck, handsome looks, and eight-pack abs, he's severed himself from love, immune to beauty, and wholly devoted to the Way. He's the pure, innocent white rose among dragon protagonists.

As the vicious female supporting character who left Bei Gongyu with a deep childhood trauma, Yan Qiu is destined to die with a sword through her heart. That will be the first step in his revenge and rise to power.

When Bei Gongyu stands before her, ready to deliver the classic line, "Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west of the river...", Yan Qiu drops to her knees and hugs his leg.

"I was wrong. I truly understand my mistake. I suffered right along with you through all those difficult years. Every day, I've been reflecting and repenting, hoping for the chance to make it up to you. From now on, let me stay by your side..."

By sucking up to Bei Gongyu, Yan Qiu manages to cling to life as his lackey. That very day, the plot veers off course. The beautiful women who had once overlooked Bei Gongyu's handsome face suddenly seem to regain their sight and swarm toward him like waves.

Beautiful woman A: "Brother Yu, I have a transcendent treasure."

Beautiful woman B: "Brother Yu, I have an unparalleled cultivation technique."

Beautiful woman C: "Brother Yu, I have mountains of wealth."

Beautiful woman D: "Brother Yu, I... I'm beautiful..."

Bei Gongyu: "Go away, you accursed beauties! Go away and stop pestering me! My heart belongs only to the Great Way."

There are so many beautiful women, and the dragon protagonist is so annoyed. Unable to stand it any longer, he pushes them all away and takes Yan Qiu's hand. "We're good brothers, right? I'm the person who's always treated you best, right? If I'm in trouble, you should help me, right?"

Yan Qiu: "Mm-hmm. We're brothers. Of course I'll help."

Bei Gongyu: "Marry me. We'll get married, and those accursed beauties won't come after me anymore. If we're brothers, marry me. Good brothers for life!"

Yan Qiu: "Mm-hmm. Good brothers for life."

But after they marry, Yan Qiu realizes that her bunkmate brother has started looking at her in a very strange way...

*

She became his wife, the love of his life.

Even though he knows that she married the name "Bei Gongyu," not him as a person.

But it doesn't matter. Once she's tied to him, she won't get away.

Theme: Remain righteous in poverty, and stay true to the Way in prosperity.
