[This book is on hiatus]
There's no excuse. The problem is my writing, and the plot has gone off course.
If I forced myself to keep writing, it would inevitably become a pile of garbage that even I couldn't bear to read.
So I'll start posting again once I've sorted out the story and have at least 200,000 words saved up.
I will rewrite it, and I absolutely won't abandon my daughter.
[Original Blurb]
Her lover is a holy mage who swore to protect her with his life.
On the day the rebels stormed the palace, he came toward her through the blazing fire, clad in a halo of sunset light and carrying a holy sword. He said he would help her escape alive.
But that was after he had killed her father and brothers and destroyed her country.
"You can still live as you did before. From now on, everything I have belongs to you. Your Highness, I told you, I will be your knight for the rest of my life."
The sharp sword pierced the rebel's chest.
She defended the last shred of dignity she had as an imperial princess.
When she opened her eyes again, everything had returned to ten years earlier.
Her deceitful, treacherous lover was now just a pitiful boy, bullied by everyone.
Wendy decided to learn his methods.
She would make him trust her, depend on her, and adore her, until he became a puppet under her control.
So Wendy always rescued him in his darkest moments, telling him again and again, "I'll protect you, Elvis."
Elvis always believed Wendy was his salvation, a messenger sent by God, his most precious treasure, and the beloved he dared not confess his feelings for.
But in truth, she was always thinking about how to shove him into hell.
[The Male Lead's Story]
He was destined to become the empire's foremost duke.
He looked down on Wendy Hill's lowly birth.
But she kept expressing her love for him, supporting every decision he made and staying by his side to protect him.
Her love was so full it seemed ready to spill over.
So he only pitied her, and accepted her love temporarily, deigning to lower himself to her level.
"Let's break up, Master Rand."
It was an accident, and she was angry.
But he thought he could make it all right with a little coaxing.
After that, though, she never looked his way again.
All her love vanished without a trace.
Later, he finally understood: she was nothing but a cruel liar.
Reader's Guide:
1. The heroine is focused entirely on revenge. She has feelings for her elder brother, but everything else is an act.
2. The ex is doomed to die. Don't hold out any hope.
3. Happy ending. I will absolutely not abandon this story.
