Don't Put on an Act in Front of Me

[Taking a long hiatus. I'll come back and finish the story, so enter at your own risk.]

Years later, Qin Bie ran into the teacher who had once taught him at a get-together. He deliberately beat him at cards and got him drunk, all to get his attention.

But things seemed to go a little off track?

Qin Bie: "You don't remember me."

"I was the famous top student in my year. And you just forgot about me?"

Lin Xiu: "Uh, kid, that kind of pickup line isn't in fashion anymore. Are you trying to hit on me?"

Qin Bie: "Heh..."

Lin Xiu never expected to end up living with a former student one day, even if their roles had completely changed since then.

Then he discovered that the fountain pen that had suddenly gone missing from the office, the mysteriously vanished dictionary, and the one and only graduation photo had all been carefully kept by Qin Bie.

Lin Xiu teased him. "I knew you had a crush on me. You can stop denying it."

Qin Bie looked utterly defeated, clearly unwilling to admit it. "..."

Lin Xiu felt a little guilty. "Um, how about I pursue you first, and then you can pursue me?"

Qin Bie kept up a dignified front. "Fine."

Bonus scene:

Lin Xiu was asked to attend a parent-teacher meeting for his nephew, whose grades ranked dead last. In front of everyone, a student singled him out and told him to go see the homeroom teacher before the meeting began.

The moment he saw who it was, he was speechless.

Qin Bie said expressionlessly, "Lin Yan's grades are at the bottom of the class. The parents bear some responsibility too. As teachers, we don't just educate the students. We pay attention to their parents as well."

Lin Xiu swallowed his irritation and tried to keep his composure. "You? Educate me?"

Qin Bie adjusted his glasses. "Want to find out?"
