Borrowed from Xin Qiji’s “The Green Jade Cup”:
The east wind scatters blossoms like a thousand trees,
then blows them down, like stars in a rain.
Fine steeds and carved carriages fill the road with fragrance.
The phoenix flutes sound, the jade moon turns, and fish and dragons dance all night.
Women wear moth-shaped ornaments, willow leaves, and golden threads. Their laughter fades as they leave, trailing a faint fragrance.
I searched for her a thousand times among the crowd. Then, suddenly, I turned around: there she was, where the lantern light grew dim.
A contemporary romance, with fine steeds and carved carriages filling the road with fragrance.
