Female Lead's Version
Chu Yu has one of the worst reputations in the capital. Partly because of her strange behavior, and partly thanks to Lu Lin, the imperial diarist.
After being criticized time and time again, Chu Yu sneers and tears up Lu Lin's court diary. She transforms into a homeless little beggar and is promptly taken back to Lu Lin's residence.
By day, Chu Yu sits behind a curtain listening to Lord Lu criticize her, her eyes icy. At night, she reclines on the bed and gazes down at Lu Lin, kneeling at its foot and coaxing her. A chilling smile plays on her lips.

Male Lead's Version:
As an imperial diarist, Lu Lin is famous throughout the capital for fearing no powerful figures and wanting nothing for himself. But no one knows that he keeps a beautiful, petty, delicate young woman hidden in his home, and dotes on her so much he wishes he could put her on a pedestal.
Later, he's framed for treason and his home is confiscated. All he can think about is how to ensure his darling can live out the rest of her life in peace and safety, but she's disappeared...
Lu Lin, utterly despondent, is brought to the Golden Throne Hall. He looks up, stunned, and sees the Grand Princess, whose face has always been hidden from view, lifting the curtain with her slender hand.
His darling rests her chin on her hand and looks down at him coldly. Her red lips, which once spoke so many gentle words to him, part as she says sharply, "Lord Lu, you certainly have some nerve."
Lord Lu, who fears no powerful figures, goes weak in the knees and drops to the floor with a thud. The officials behind him are shocked: Lord Lu has knelt!
