I suppose this is my first professional face-slapping story?
It's my first attempt.
A fish has a seven-second memory. He can only remember the last twenty-four hours, but though he can forget everything, he will never forget her.
She is the one uniquely special person who remains in his memory forever.
She wasn't someone he chose after considering his options. She was the one he knew, at first sight, he would spend his life with.
From that moment on, he would be devoted to her for the rest of his life.
