After Being Raised by My Childhood Friend

[One-line summary: Childhood-friend gong works hard to earn money and support his wife's education...] 1. Xia Peien was raised by Jing Zhou. Jing Zhou worked himself to the bone to earn money and put Xia Peien through school. He raised him well and couldn't bear to see him suffer even the slightest grievance, let alone look at anyone else for too long. After Xia Peien went to college, Jing Zhou worked his way up and became a big shot. Jing Zhou's possessiveness toward him grew just as quickly as his wealth. Xia Peien wasn't allowed to live in the dorms and had to be home by ten every night. He had to spend up to his bank card's limit every day, not a cent less. Jing Zhou had to vet all his friends and decide which clubs he could join... All his friends said, "Your brother's way too controlling. You're an adult. You should have some space of your own." Xia Peien just smiled softly without saying a word. Then, as usual, he glanced at his phone. The screen showed a new check-in from Jing Zhou, along with his live location. That night, Jing Zhou held him close and casually asked, "What were you talking about with your friends today? You looked so happy." Xia Peien curled up in his arms and closed his eyes. "Nothing much." Xia Peien didn't know that after he fell asleep, Jing Zhou would stroke his face over and over, murmuring, "You've picked up bad habits from other people. Now you even lie to me." 2. Jing Zhou could put up with Xia Peien's occasional lies, as long as Xia Peien didn't leave him. That is, until he found out Xia Peien had secretly applied to study abroad as an exchange student. That night, Xia Peien opened the front door and saw Jing Zhou sitting in the shadows on the sofa, silent. The table was covered with information on properties near overseas universities. Jing Zhou pulled Xia Peien into his arms. "You can go anywhere you want." "But you'll never leave me." I raised you, so you can only be mine. Theme: 11
