[Bungo Stray Dogs] Singing with the Long Wind

"Even the wind gets tired after blowing for too long, so it slows down. As it drifts along, it might get curious and give you a little nudge."

There are many kinds of feelings, but the one thing I don't want you to be is a negative emotion.

"I'm an extreme kind of monster." I... don't even know who I am.

Why did it have to be me?

Well, even so,

I only wanted to express how I felt.

Forget it.

Being dead is more trouble than being alive.

Those people are so strange. A simple sentence is all it takes for them to gain the will to live.

Tsk.

Forget it.

It's only one sentence, right? I'll say it. It's just one life, after all.

[Odasaku!

Am I... just another person you don't care about?]

The rain that day was fine and light, veiling my view like frosted glass. We were separated by that little stretch of land, yet I couldn't make out his expression.

I... will never like rainy days again.

And I won't like apologies, either.

[Good. I understand how determined you are to get revenge.

Then, you... would you rather have tofu hot pot or coffee pudding?]

She's still just a kid, isn't she?

Girls... like sweets, right?

If I'm wrong, I'll beat the crap out of Dazai.

How can the same person be so different?

"I want to save it."

"I want to die."

I used to like rain. Then I hated it. After that, I realized what I hated was the wind mixed in with the rain.

In the end, I accepted the wind.

(A healing story, except the bit with Chino still gets a little depressing. Third-person narration, subject to change.)

Theme: The wind blows through, bringing a long, lingering song. I only hear the lightness outside; I can't hear the weight of the oppression.
