The Regent's Heart Is as Still as Water [Book Transmigration]

[Sorry, I haven't had any inspiration lately. I tried writing a few chapters, but it still wasn't working, so this story will probably be on hiatus for a while. I'll continue when I feel inspired again. It's my fault for getting everyone excited for nothing. You don't need to wait for now. Bows.]

#My Rivals All Fall for Me, But I Just Want to Be Emperor#

Only after transmigrating into a book did Yan Ciyun realize he was the cannon-fodder top in a danmei novel.

In the novel, the chosen protagonist, the bottom, was an emperor who served as Yan Ciyun's puppet.

The emperor was gorgeous, and everyone loved him. The Yan Ciyun in the book coveted him, but died in a palace coup when he was just one step away from the throne.

The masterminds were the strategists, secret guards, and ministers around him.

In truth, all these men were admirers of the emperor. They had sided with Yan Ciyun only to bring him down.

After learning the plot, Yan Ciyun remained unmoved.

Sorry, all he wanted now was to stand above everyone else.

Who could have guessed that the beautiful emperor he couldn't win over in the book, the strategist who betrayed him, the secret guard who stabbed him, and the minister who had only pretended to bide his time would all start currying favor with him?

They offered him their sincere hearts and gazed at him expectantly, willing to serve as his loyal subjects.

Yan Ciyun lowered his eyes and scoffed, crushing the plot beneath his feet.

If that was how it was, then he'd use their loyalty as stepping stones and climb to the throne.

Until he reached the summit, where the view was boundless and no one could ever lord it over him again.

P.S. 1. One-on-one pairing: Yan Ciyun, a ruthless beauty of a regent who is even harsher on himself than on others, as the bottom x Ji Yuzhen, a mad emperor who pretends to be one thing at first, then drops the act and latches onto the regent, refusing to let go, as the top.

2. The rivals come around. The top is a seemingly innocent but secretly ruthless emperor. At first, the strategists, secret guards, and ministers all love the emperor and want to bring down the regent. Later, they grow jealous when the emperor falls for the regent, though the regent sees them only as ordinary subordinate tools.
