[Haikyuu!!/KageHina] The Swallow and the Cicada

Before filming began, the director arranged intensive volleyball training for the leads to serve the story. That's when Kageyama first met his main scene partner. But the more he looked at him, the more he wondered: Why does this guy look so much like the punk who harassed me at a bar?

The "punk" stood at the gym entrance, eyes wide with shock. "What are you doing here?!"

Kageyama: ...Mystery solved. He really is the punk.

[Important Warnings]

* Not Japanese entertainment or Chinese entertainment, and there are no industry counterparts. Completely fictional.

* Put those three capital letters, OOC, up on the screen.

* Mountains of headcanons. Long live self-indulgence. If you don't like it, click away.

[Basic Setup]

Off-camera: Kageyama, a university acting student, x Hinata, the main dancer in an obscure boy band.

On-camera: Childhood friends and volleyball players, setter Kuroba Katsuhiko x opposite hitter Mitsufuji Seiichi.

* The on-camera Kuroba and Mitsufuji pairing is both similar to and different from the original Kageyama and Hinata. They're an OOC creation to satisfy my own tastes, basically fanfiction within fanfiction (x). In short, you can ship Kuroba and Mitsufuji as Kageyama and Hinata fanfiction, or treat them as a completely unrelated story. Have fun however you like.

* On-camera Mitsufuji Seiichi may have a cannon-fodder ex, but they barely appear.

* Kageyama has an ex-girlfriend, but she doesn't appear.

* The off-camera Kageyama and Hinata story definitely has a happy ending; the on-camera Kuroba and Mitsufuji story has an open ending.

[Inspiration]

* BGM: Birds and Cicadas - Ren Ran

The world in the film is the "Fifth Season." Their meeting beyond volleyball is their "Thirteenth Month." The birds and cicadas briefly overlap in time and space on the wind.
