[Digimon] Your Voice Will Never Disappear

Kanon always dreams of that scene. The world was silent... Blood spattered the walls, the sofa, the television, everywhere.

She met a pair of eyes with more white than iris: green sclera and golden pupils. Set unnervingly far apart, they looked nothing like human eyes... more like a demon's.

Yet when Kanon saw those eyes, she wasn't afraid. Instead, she felt at ease. In her most desperate moments, it was the only one... that would take her hand.

The monster's golden eyes shifted to meet Kanon's gaze. It bared its snow-white fangs, wearing a deeply unsettling expression that was neither quite a smile nor quite anything else.

[If I can't have an angel watching over me... a demon will do.]

When Kanon was eleven, she got caught up in a murder case. Her abusive stepfather was found dead in the living room, and she was the first to discover him.

The case went cold, and everything Kanon had seen that day became a secret buried deep in her heart.

After Kanon was cleared of suspicion, the prestigious Wakamatsu family adopted her for the sake of a marriage alliance. But another murder soon struck close to Kanon.

When the baffling string of murders finally came to an end, Kanon somehow became the sole heir to President Wakamatsu's estate.

In truth, this is just a story about someone with depression suddenly getting rich overnight and letting loose.
