Qiao Yu was a little Foundation Establishment cultivator. To save her fiance and fellow disciples, she was tricked into entering a secret realm, where a powerful cultivator she'd never met beat her for nearly a hundred years. She finally escaped by taking advantage of the tribulation lightning that came with her Core Formation. Injured, she rushed back to her sect, only to find her fiance holding a dual cultivation ceremony with someone else. The bride looked exactly like her, without the slightest difference!
Only then did she learn that she was a substitute, created through refinement to take her owner's tribulations, an existence that should have disappeared long ago. The grandmaster she had always adored wanted to cut out her golden core and give it to the original. Just as her body was destroyed and her soul was about to vanish, she was rescued by a senior cultivator.
Only then did she learn that the powerful cultivator's beatings had refined her spirit. That was why, after her body was destroyed, an expert could place her primordial spirit in the body of a beast. From then on, she became a dog and began her tumultuous cultivation journey all over again...
She remembered the powerful cultivator's kindness and wanted to "repay" him. So whenever she got into trouble and couldn't win, she invoked his name. At last, everyone could take no more and demanded to know what exactly she had to do with a certain powerful cultivator. She tilted her head. "He brought me into the world. He's my dad."
One day, the powerful cultivator came to her door. "I hear I'm a father now?"
