Please Listen to the Gods

Jiang Zhixu was a college student. On his very first day as a freshman, he realized there was something strange about his dorm. A sentence was written in plain sight on the dorm's little blackboard: Please heed the words of the gods. His roommate grumbled as he erased the board. That very night, the roommate who had wiped it clean suddenly died. The exact same sentence appeared on the board again: Please heed the words of the gods. Only later did Jiang Zhixu learn that he had accidentally entered an infinite world, and the only way to leave was to earn enough points. Jiang Zhixu watched as the roommate who had suddenly died in the middle of the night returned to their dorm. He listened to the eerie crying in the dead of night. He saw the terrifying bloodstains in the bathroom. Jiang Zhixu rubbed his hands together eagerly. "I am Jiang Zhixu, the 317th-generation Celestial Master. Do your worst." NPCs: ??? The deceased roommate who kept coming back to the dorm? Jiang Zhixu: "It's okay. I'll help you pass on!" Roommate: "Dude! Don't do that! Respect my job!" Under his roommate's friendly (furious) and cheerful (hopeless) gaze, Jiang Zhixu helped him pass on. The eerie crying stopped at once. The terrifying bloodstains vanished in an instant. The infinite world's NPCs: "Stay back! You have to listen to the gods!" Jiang Zhixu: "The gods are lying to you. They're manipulating you and making you work for them for free. I'm the one sending you on your way. I'm the only good guy here." NPCs: "We have benefits and a secure government job!" After helping every last one of them pass on, Jiang Zhixu looked at the mountain of merit he'd earned. He smiled faintly. "Another day of being a good person! *^_^*" With so many coworkers sent off to the afterlife, the entire infinite world was seething with resentment toward the crude, unreasonable Celestial Master. They were about to summon the Lord God when they realized the little sidekick standing beside that obnoxious Celestial Master looked familiar. Lu Jiming: "Xiao Zhi, get this one. It's been around a long time, so it has lots of merit!" Jiang Zhixu: "Okay!" The NPCs watched in shock as their Lord God picked up the employee roster and helped the Celestial Master send them all on their way. Then they watched the motto of the infinite world change from Please heed the words of the gods to Please heed the words of the Celestial Master. Theme: Stay positive and keep moving forward.
