The Chancellor Is My Biggest Hater

During the reign of Emperor Jingning, she committed countless evil deeds.

First, she forcibly took noblemen from the capital into the palace as consorts. Then she dismissed a hundred veteran ministers from the previous dynasty and broke both of the chancellor's legs.

Such a depraved and ungrateful person was clearly unfit to bear the burden of ruling an empire.

With his legs crippled, Chancellor Zhou Ci switched his allegiance to the emperor's younger brother, Prince Niebei. On his orders, he led a great army to besiege the capital and personally shot the empress dead on her throne.

After reading a book of unknown origin, a villager shook his head and said, "Most importantly, I hear Emperor Jingning was short, hideously ugly, and had the face of a demon."

Luo Jinge, who was cooking: "...That's complete bullshit! Who wrote this book? Who?!"

Zhou Ci picked it up and read it, unable to stifle a laugh. "Some parts are exaggerated, but they aren't entirely made up."

Luo Jinge: "...What are you doing here?"

Zhou Ci: "Your Majesty, I have come to ask you to return to the capital."

Luo Jinge was quiet for a moment, then threw him out. "Get lost!"

You slander me as ugly and then expect me to help you? Dream on!

Empress x Chancellor

[Warnings]

Not a conventional court-intrigue story. The author is a novice, and the main focus is romance.

The female lead fakes her death. There is a mild groveling arc, and the leads misunderstand each other.
