Legend has it that abyssal dragons are the most brutal, bloodthirsty creatures on the continent. Whenever the barrier between the demon realm and the human world weakens, they lead demon armies into human territory to slaughter, plunder, and commit every imaginable atrocity, destroying civilizations that took humanity centuries to build.
An He transmigrated.
While other people transmigrate as dragon-slaying heroes, he had barely arrived before he found himself facing the drooling maw of an abyssal dragon. He was destined to become its meal.
To survive, An He took the initiative and spoke to the dragon.
An He: How long has it been since you ate a human?
Dragon: Since the last time we invaded the human realm... probably several centuries.
An He: So I'm a rare delicacy you haven't eaten in centuries? Is this how you treat rare delicacies? You're going to eat me raw without even cooking me? What a waste! Such a crime against nature!
Dragon: ...
The dragon thought he had a point, so it planned to breathe fire and roast the "meat" that had dropped from the sky until it was crispy on the outside and tender inside.
An He struggled to push its open jaws shut, stopping the dragon.
An He: Wait! Don't start roasting me yet. Do you have any BBQ seasoning? How could charred human meat possibly taste good without seasoning?
Dragon: ???
After some negotiation, the dragon agreed to roast and eat him once he'd made those BBQ seasonings.
And so, in the lightless depths of the dark abyss, buildings sprang up from the ground. Lamps fueled by magic crystals lit the darkness of the lower demon realm. The demons ventured deep into the unexplored abyss, bringing back all kinds of new materials to help build the royal city.
A hundred years later, the gates between the demon realm and the human world swung open. The hero waited nervously by the passage, expecting another demon invasion.
Instead, he was greeted by a luxurious magic-crystal train he'd never seen before, carrying countless specialties from the depths of the abyss, along with demons wrapped in robes who seemed to have suddenly become a lot more civilized.
As the hero watched warily, a huge dragon flew out, its wings spread wide enough to blot out the sky. But sitting on the dragon's back was a slender human.
The hero gaped. "A-a dragon knight?"
An He blushed and denied it. "No, I'm not a knight. I'm just occasionally... ridden by the dragon."
Hero: ???
