On the fifteenth day of the sixth month of the seventh year of Xing Tong, the heavens displayed an auspicious sign: five stars aligned. At the hour of Shen on the same day, a daughter was born to the Duke of Guo's household. In an instant, the clouds of the sky layered into brilliant colors, like a phoenix dancing through the heavens.

A few friendly reminders:
1. This story is entirely fictional.
2. This is mostly a sweet romance, with no major angst in the plot, just a little angst to add flavor. The plot and romance develop together, though there's more romance early on (she really is a sweet little dumpling as a child).
3. The heroine isn't a naive innocent; she's clever and capable, with a bit of a beloved-by-everyone vibe. The hero is a gentle, otherworldly beauty, but also scheming and sharp-tongued.
4. If you don't understand the blurb, read Chapter One.
