With the border under severe threat, thousands of Xibo warriors were ordered to defend it. Lin Fangning hid among them to search for her father, traveling thousands of miles, only to drown in a river just as she was about to arrive... When she opened her eyes again, she was in the Huangpu River... two hundred years in the future, with a disheveled young man holding her face. Aaaah, he's about to kiss her!
You lecher! Fangning slapped him. Who knew the lecher would turn out to be her neighbor's younger brother, and then hold her responsible for saving him?
Chen Xiyuan clutched his head and pretended to have a headache. "Sis, I jumped into the Huangpu River in winter to save you."
Lin Fangning: "Oh, thanks."
Chen Xiyuan: "I caught a chill and have a headache. Sis, rub it for me!"
Lin Fangning: "Doctor! This patient has a headache."
When hinting didn't work, Chen Xiyuan decided to confess outright. But... she'd gone off to the frontier.
Shanghai-born educated youth Chen Xiyuan has three major strengths: handsome, well-off, and talented. As soon as he arrived at the Fourth Agricultural Division, the new and veteran female educated youth were all starry-eyed and smitten.
Unfortunately, he has one fatal flaw: he's blind!
With so many beautiful, delicate, lively, sweet-voiced girls around, why does he have to like the rough woman Lin Fangning, who spends all day dealing with filthy, smelly animals?
Lin Fangning glared. "You're the blind ones! You're the smelly ones! Every part of a deer is a treasure: its antlers, tendons, blood, and placenta. What's not to love?"
Chen Xiyuan was secretly delighted. "Ningning, did you just speak up for me?"
Lin Fangning stubbornly denied it. "No. I just hate people looking down on my little deer. And call me Sis."
Later, after they'd rolled around on the kang again and again, Chen Xiyuan clutched the bedsheet, his face flushed. "Sis, you were so good just now."
Lin Fangning, who had just been pinned down: "...Do you have to keep pretending?"
A few notes:
1. The heroine is a big northern girl: tall, not delicate, and with an appetite to match any man.
2. The career plot is substantial, and the romance comes later.
Theme: Women standing on their own
