A collection of stories set in an insectoid world, with male leads.
Story One:
Rain poured down in a dense forest. An insectoid vanguard unit and a human from Earth arrived at an old castle at the same time to take shelter.
After recovering from the shock of arriving in another world, the Earthling Shan Muyang accepted that he had transmigrated into a world that seemed like an eerie, infinite-flow horror novel. Such worlds usually had a powerful protagonist.
He needed to find the protagonist among the cannon fodder in bizarre outfits, cling to their coattails, survive, and return to his own world.
Shan Muyang scanned the group, then fixed his gaze on a tall, straight-backed young man in a crisp white military uniform, cold as frost.
"The rain won't stop tonight. We'll have to stay here for the night, so find a room for yourselves."
Shan Muyang went over to the silver-haired man with the impassive expression and smiled as he held out his hand. "Hello, I'm Shan Muyang. Can I share a room with you?"
The air fell silent.
Whispers rose from below.
"That male insect is so bold. Doesn't he know General Zefal despises male insects?"
"Shameless! He's a male insect, yet he wants to seduce a female insect into sharing a room. Male insects really are all lecherous and vulgar!"
"But he's handsome. Let him be vulgar, then. Male insects are all the same anyway, and at least this one is good-looking. When General Zefal rejects him, I'll share a room with him."
"Then... so will I."
Unaware that a whole group of female insects desperate for mental comfort were eyeing him, Shan Muyang continued smiling at the silver-haired man, waiting for his reply.
"Of course. It would be my honor, sir."
Zefal wanted to see what this bold male insect was up to.
Story Two:
The military female insect Bark had secretly loved was killed in battle, and under pressure from his family, he was forced to marry Youtis, a newly promoted general who had recently risen to prominence and won many battles.
Youtis came from a poor background and needed the aristocracy to raise his status. Bark's family had no power, only an aristocratic title, and had fallen into decline. They desperately needed to ally with a powerful military female insect to secure their position.
Their aims aligned, so the marriage was arranged, and Bark became the sacrifice.
On their wedding night, the male insect lay on the bed without moving.
Youtis knelt beside the bed, eyes lowered. "My lord, please show me mercy."
The male insect on the bed remained motionless.
An hour later, Youtis was still kneeling by the bed. He shifted his legs, numb and cold, his face grim and his gaze faintly resentful.
Bark was known for his compassion and wasn't like other male insects who took pleasure in tormenting female insects.
That was why Youtis had chosen Bark, a distant branch of the family, when the Bark family came to propose the marriage.
He shouldn't have expected anything from a male insect. They were all cruel, some only more so than others.
It didn't matter. Male insects were all the same. He only needed to achieve his goal...
"I'm sorry! I... I fell asleep..."
A flustered voice rang out. The military female insect looked up and saw a handsome face streaked with tears.
"My lord, you're crying. Why?"
Bark guiltily fetched some medicine, helped Youtis sit on the edge of the bed, then crouched by his feet and carefully applied the medicine to the bruised knees of the kneeling military female insect.
"I'm sorry. I already love someone else. I was forced to marry you. If you mind, we can apply for a divorce."
"If you love someone else, why didn't you marry them?"
"Because he died in battle..."
"Who is the one you love?"
"Shatu."
Youtis froze. It was a name buried on the battlefield long ago, blown away like sand in the wind and remembered by no one.
"Ever since Shatu saved me from the flames two years ago, my heart has belonged to him alone. I won't ever love another female insect."
On their wedding night, the male insect had confessed his love for another female insect in front of his new spouse. Youtis should have been furious. But looking at the male insect's tear-reddened eyes, he gently curled his lips and smiled.
(That's right, Youtis is Shatu.)
More to come.
Notes: This is a male-lead story featuring seven insectoid generals in the same insectoid setting. The Earthling male-lead group includes a handsome, sunny, cheerful rich second-generation guy; a cool, skilled young Taoist who comes down from the mountains; and a beautiful, amnesiac, weepy, weak Alpha. The native male-lead group includes a smooth-talking, beauty-loving playboy who's caught in the act and very good at yielding and acting cute; a handsome, tender-hearted guy who cherishes beauty and is easily moved; more to be added.
All the love interests dote on the male leads.
Potential trigger: The playboy story involves the love interest being reborn. In his previous life, the playboy had other female insects around him and had lightly marked some of them. In this life, he's faithful.
Apart from Story One, which comes first, the other story summaries are out of order.
