I Am Chang'e [Mythology Crossover]

“If we ever fall in love with each other, I would rather rebel against Heaven itself and raise the banner of a demon. What could the Heavenly Court possibly do to me?” How deeply devoted those words from Erlang Shen, Yang Jian, were. But Chang'e, who had come from another world, could only wish that she had been the one to say them. She too was a being who had survived from the age of the Witches and Demons to the present. She had seen the Three-Legged Golden Crow fall from the sky, and lived through the decline of the Demon Court and the founding of the Heavenly Court. Why couldn't she become powerful? What did it matter that she was the most beautiful woman in the Heavenly Court? She was nothing more than a celestial maiden dancing before the throne. What did it matter that love was as deep as the sea? All she knew was that he had a wife, and she had once had a husband. Since they had not met before either of them married, there was no need for anything to begin. If I become so powerful that all beings look upon me in awe, rebel against Heaven itself, and raise the banner of a demon, who could do anything to me? Theme: True strength comes from within.
