It's So Hard Running a Zoo in Yokohama

Blurb

The literary writer known as "Animal Tales" has the supernatural ability "Spring Has Come." Every day, he has to watch a certain number and variety of unfamiliar animals to keep his ability under control. Otherwise, the ability will run wild, engulfing all of Yokohama in "Spring Has Come," and he will die of exhaustion.

On his first day in Yokohama, he rescued a mackerel from the river and watched it to stay alive.

On his second day, he saw a beautiful white tiger in Yokohama and watched it to stay alive.

On his third day, he chased after a calico cat to watch it.

On his fourth day, he searched all over Yokohama before finally finding a strange yellow bird. He chased it to watch it, and ended up fighting its owner, a certain chief disciplinary committee member.

On his fifth day, he fought several ninjas so he could watch a nine-tailed fox.

On his sixth day, he couldn't find any unfamiliar animals, so he decided to watch the mackerel.

On his seventh day, he cuddled the mackerel.

On his eighth day, he decided to open a zoo in Yokohama.

The end.

1. Animal Tales has completely forgotten that he's the "Pitch-Black Little Dwarf," and Chuya, the black-mud gremlin wrapped in bandages from head to toe to hide his mackerel identity.
