The ancient gods have vanished, and the Heavenly Emperor has fallen. Only the Four Heavenly Lords remain to face the imminent war between gods and demons. Qi Ling, a low-ranking immortal in the Celestial Realm who can use the Samadhi True Fire without limit, is entrusted with an important task by the Heavenly Lords: use the True Fire to help the last phoenix in the world undergo rebirth. Qi Ling begins a life of tending an egg day and night, but soon discovers that hatching it is only the beginning: she will have to raise the phoenix, too. To help it recover the three phoenix feathers it once entrusted to others, Qi Ling decides to put herself on the line as well.
