I fell in love with the Chinese Paladin games the first time I played one more than ten years ago. From Chinese Paladin 1 through 4, every story has stayed with me, inviting endless reminiscence.
Yet the one I cherish most, the one that left the deepest impression, is the Chinese Paladin 3 spin-off, Wen Qing Pian.
I've looked through the stories on JJ, and there are plenty of Chinese Paladin fanfics, but so far I haven't found one featuring characters from the third game's spin-off. I'm rather surprised. Why is that?
The plot of Wen Qing Pian is indeed simpler and more straightforward than those of the main series. It doesn't have the sweeping grandeur of a tale spanning the six realms of gods, demons, immortals, spirits, humans, and ghosts. Yet I was deeply moved by the love shown in the game:
Si Duan's love for Chi Yan: though human and demon belong to different worlds, they remained together through life and death. Xing Xuan's brotherly bond with Nan Gong Huang: they understood each other and stood together through every hardship. Chang Ji's love for Nan Gong Huang as a father: he cared for him deeply and was even willing to break with his sect for the sake of his adopted son. Si Tang's friendship with Xing Xuan: he was unwaveringly loyal, yet still could not escape the fate of sacrifice...
There are far too many things that moved me. And so this new story was born. I want to write down all the people and events in the Chinese Paladin 3 spin-off that touched me. Since this is fanfiction, some things will certainly change to suit the plot, but the central theme will never change:
Tell me, what is love?
It binds us to give our lives for one another.
Female lead: Tang Xiao Lou
Identity: A young lady of the Tang family, and the niece of Jing Tian and Tang Xue Jian. The rest is unknown...
Greatest hobby: picking on Jing Tian's son, Jing Xiao Lou. (His name is so much like mine. What a rip-off!)
Magic: Lightning and Wind (unknown)
Specialties: Lightness skills and hidden weapons
Personality: She bullies people she knows mercilessly, completely ignores strangers, loves meddling in other people's business, and enjoys joining in the fun.
Overall impression: A queen-like, badass heroine!! A crazy heroine who wreaks havoc on the world!!
The first volume mostly follows the original plot. Starting in Volume Two, most of the story will be original! And as for the male lead in this story~~
