The kindly river god Xiang Jun was bullied by the big white cat three times in her life. The first time, she found an injured young man and kindly helped him cross the river. He scolded her, but she still pointed him toward Rufeng Sect. The second time, she found an angry master and was scolded, but still kindly pointed him toward the Summit of Life and Death. The third time, she helped the Immortal of the Big Dipper deal with a river demon and nearly got beaten up. But she was still full of energy: "Hey! What a coincidence! It's you again, Immortal!"
The irritable immortal Chu Wanning fell into the water three times because of the foolish fish. The first time, he had injured himself by cutting out his own spiritual core when the foolish fish suddenly darted out and startled him into the water, then recommended that awful place, Rufeng Sect. The second time, he stormed off in anger and stood by the river, when she darted out again and knocked him in. The third time, he went down the mountain to exterminate a demon and pretended to be the "river god's" offering, but she dragged him into the water. So he had finally had enough: "Tsk, how annoying. Why is it her again?"
A water ghost has two options: find a replacement or fade away. But Xiang Jun, an outstanding former public servant from the neighborhood office, chose option C: rescuing the suicidal, the drowning, and abandoned babies. Then one day, her merit made her a river god? Now she has even more motivation to do good deeds! But she keeps stumbling into the same big white cat three times, and now she's determined to stick with Chu Wanning! "Immortal, immortal, want a koi fish?"
