Ten years ago, a colossal wave swept away Jiang Yueya's father and brother. Her mother died, unable to bear the grief, leaving Jiang Yueya an orphan. She was sold to Hu Sanniang, an old fox spirit, to work as a servant.
Though Jiang Yueya was plain-looking, she had a natural talent for growing plants. And with her strong yet delicate hands, she won Hu Sanniang's favor.
With Hu Sanniang's help, Jiang Yueya opened a bathhouse catering to cultivators who wanted to relieve their fatigue and dispel their troubles.
As soon as it opened, the carefully prepared baths became a hit, and word of them spread across the entire Penglai Immortal Island.
One night, a strange customer arrived. His face was hidden behind a fearsome ghost mask. He not only demanded that the bathhouse be cleared, but specifically requested a massage from Jiang Yueya, who had never served customers herself.
The customer had soft, delicate skin, and his jade-like body caught Jiang Yueya's eye. As they kept meeting, she became infatuated with him.
But the customer was so mysterious that no matter how many workers Jiang Yueya sent to follow him, she couldn't find out his name or where he lived.
It wasn't until the old fox kicked Jiang Yueya out that she had nowhere else to turn and sought refuge with the Qingheng Sect. There, she became the maid in charge of raising the sect patriarch's beloved pet, a golden suanni. Only then did she realize that the patriarch and the customer she'd been longing for seemed to be the same person.
But the patriarch seemed so pure and untouchable. How could she possibly win him over?
Obviously, by sticking to his side like a ghost, then playing hard to get.
Heh heh heh.
Once Jiang Yueya finally got what she wanted, she discovered that the patriarch was nothing like his elegant exterior suggested.
He! Is! A! Great! Demon! King!
With her life on the line, Jiang Yueya had no choice but to run for it. But how could a patriarch with such incredible powers let her get away?
