Lin Heng, a poor actress barely known in the industry, receives a gift from her agent:
A one-way ticket to the Acting Training Center.
On her first day at the center, luggage in tow, Lin Heng receives a sheet of rules covered in writing. Something about the wording seems a little strange:
Actors, welcome to the Acting Training Center.
Our center is dedicated to helping you achieve a complete transformation in your acting skills and build a bright future.
The center has ten departments: Directing, Acting, Cinematography, Props, Lighting, Costume, Special Effects, and Post-Production.
While working on productions here, please cooperate with the Directing Department to ensure your safety. Please observe the following rules:
1. Before each shoot, please wear the costume assigned to you, and return it to its original place after filming. If you find a costume out of place, do not approach or touch it. Move away from it as quickly as possible.
2. The Directing Department will issue scripts before filming. Please study and memorize your script before the shoot. If you forget your lines, ask the Directing Department for help. All members of the directing team are men dressed in black. If anyone who is not a staff member offers you lines, refuse them.
3. An NG may trigger script changes or an actor's demotion. In the former case, please coordinate with the Directing Department. Too many NGs may trigger unknown consequences, so take every rehearsal seriously.
4. The production team will do its utmost to ensure that actors get enough sleep. If you are scheduled for a night shoot, get plenty of rest the night before.
5. All props used by the production team have been prepared over a long period. Please do not damage them. If you have already damaged a prop, report it to the Props Department immediately.
6. This training center has no marketing team. If a marketing team contacts you, refuse them.
7. To ensure the quality of our productions, there are many extras on set. Do not talk to them. If an extra speaks to you, do not respond.
8. If you break any of the rules above, go to the Directing Department and find the screenwriter dressed in black. If the screenwriter you see is wearing white, do not speak to them. Ask them to revise your scenes.
9. If fans visit the set, actors with no scenes scheduled that day may go to greet them. The reception area is completely safe. If you have finished filming your scenes for the day and fans have come to visit, you may also go to the reception area to talk with them. Please note: No loud noises are allowed in the reception area. Fans wear yellow only. If you meet fans wearing other colors in the reception area, they are not your fans.
10. After filming, please wait for the Post-Production Department to finish the special effects. While you wait, make sure you have completed all your scenes.
Lin Heng reads the rules over and over, unable to believe that this lousy training center is so stingy it provides nothing but meals!
But Lin Heng soon discovers that everything in this lousy training center would fetch a fortune outside.
The Props Department's props are real antiques, and the Costume Department's wedding dress is a burial suit woven with gold thread.
For a poor actress barely known in the industry, the Acting Training Center is practically a charity!
First day on set:
Veteran actor: Xiao Lin, stick with me. I'll do my best to get all of you out safely.
Lin Heng: Okay! Thank you, Senior! (I don't want to work for free. I just want to lounge around and coast to victory.)
Tenth day on set:
Lin Heng: The Props Department's costume looks so pretty this time! (And expensive!) If I peel it off, it's mine!
Everyone on set: QAQ Xiao Lin, that costume is still on the female ghost!
Theme: Take your own improvement seriously.
