After Saving the Villain, I Found Out I Was His Nemesis

Legend has it that the great villain Qi Fengyan is cruel and bloodthirsty, leaving rivers of blood and piles of corpses wherever he goes. Only by cutting off eight of the Nine-Tailed Spirit Fox's tails can he be trapped forever in the Huling Formation. Xie Shuangchi never expected to arrive in this story at its very end. Now he sits facing Qi Fengyan, whose eyes have been gouged out and whose legs have been broken. He can't figure out who he is, and can barely control his twitching ears and tail. Unable to leave the Huling Formation, he strikes up a conversation with the tragic villain sitting before him. Qi Fengyan smiles bitterly and asks in a hoarse voice, “Aren't you afraid of me?” Xie Shuangchi has read the original novel and knows Qi Fengyan's past. “The world forced you into this. You were only trying to protect yourself. If those people wanted to take your life, why shouldn't you fight back?” Qi Fengyan laughs bitterly. “But the world doesn't know that.” Looking at the lonely, heartbroken Qi Fengyan before him, Xie Shuangchi resolves to heal his wounds. Every bit of cultivation he has, he uses to heal Qi Fengyan's legs. He even nearly gouges out his own eyes to give to Qi Fengyan. Qi Fengyan loves him and longs more than anything to see his face once his sight is restored. He once asked with a smile, “What would you do if I turned out to be ugly?” Swearing on his very blood and bones, Qi Fengyan said, “Even if your face were hideous, I would never abandon you.” But the moment he finally sees Xie Shuangchi's true face, Qi Fengyan grabs him by the throat, not caring that Xie Shuangchi is deathly pale from exhausting his cultivation to help him. “If you were going to kill me, why pretend to be so kind and save me?” Xie Shuangchi feels as if he's fallen into an icy pool, but suddenly remembers: he is none other than the Nine-Tailed Spirit Fox who read this very novel. - Reader's Guide: 1.
