On the night of her wedding, Princess Feng Li of the Dongxuan Kingdom killed her husband with her own hands. That very night, she raised an army in rebellion and led her troops into the imperial capital.
When the attempt failed, Feng Li led her army back to Nanhai City, established an independent state, and named it Zhengxuan.
The following day, an ominous wonder appeared in the sky. Five blood-red suns hung over the northernmost ice fields, dimming heaven and earth. Blood rained from the sky for three days without stopping.
Before the blood rain had even passed, Feng Li, ruler of Zhengxuan, issued an order summoning Wei Dong, commander of the Blackwater Imperial Guard, to the palace and assigning him a top-secret mission. That very day, Wei Dong led the elite troops of the Blackwater Imperial Guard out of the capital, and vanished without a trace.
