Rebellious Red

Feng Ting first saw Qi Ming on a brightly lit stage.

It was the first play they worked on together. Qi Ming played Feng Ting's lover, a sickly young man who had grown up dependent on others and eventually died in his beloved's arms.

At the curtain call, Feng Ting slipped an arm around Qi Ming's waist. When he closed his eyes, all he could see was that tender, heart-stirring gaze. One look stirred a thousand emotions: bashful and alluring, veiled in shame, a beauty with tear-streaked cheeks and a lonely face.

And just like that, Feng Ting accidentally... got too deep into his role.

At the wrap party, Feng Ting was about seventy percent drunk. Holding Qi Ming's hand, he recited a line from the play: "Don't be afraid. I'll take care of you."

Qi Ming showed little reaction. He only said, "Mr. Feng, you've mistaken me for someone else."

The play brought Feng Ting back to the peak of his acting career, and he made a successful return to film. He never acted in another stage play, but he began acting like an obsessive stalker, gathering information about Qi Ming wherever he could. Qi Ming was an orphan and a key member of a theater club, currently touring the country...

Then a serious accident happened during one of Qi Ming's performances.

The wardrobe door in the background sprang open... and a stiff corpse fell out. It belonged to a local tycoon. The entire audience was stunned.

Feng Ting, sitting in the audience, had watched the whole thing with his jaw hanging open. He jolted, cheeks burning and palms sweating... then rushed backstage to find Qi Ming. "I've finally figured out your secret."

Qi Ming looked up. "...What do you want?"

"To expose you." Feng Ting pointed at the police cars outside. "Unless..."

"You let me join you."
