(Pili/Ronglou Sword Pavilion) Sword Raised for Plum Blossoms

“Why do people love for such a short time, yet hate until the day they die?”

The Phoenix Emperor’s blood splashed across her own face, a face as stately and beautiful as a peony. Even in death, she was as breathtaking as ever. But when her hands trembled so badly that she could no longer hold the rigid, icy body of the woman she loved, and that woman fell to the dust, she finally understood the depths of grief. There were no tears left to shed.

She wanted to reach out and touch once more the face that had touched her heart so deeply in this life. But her raised hand abruptly stopped in midair. Memories of the past flashed by, and with a sigh, she lowered her hand to her cheek and bowed her head, motionless.
