[You think I love you, but you're nothing more than a substitute.]
Ming Sheng got together with Shen Chaoyuan during her sophomore year of college.
Shen Chaoyuan had only one requirement for her as his girlfriend: she had to be obedient.
So Ming Sheng kept up her image as a considerate, gentle, and sweet girl for three years.
Over those years, Ming Sheng had eyes for no one but Shen Chaoyuan.
Everyone sighed and said she was hopelessly in love with him.
Shen Chaoyuan had gotten together with Ming Sheng because she was obedient and easy to control. The cutthroat scheming of the business world wore him out.
Only with her could he find a moment of relief and relaxation.
So when his friends jokingly suggested he marry Ming Sheng, he didn't reject the idea outright.
Shen Chaoyuan thought, he was going to get married anyway.
It didn't matter whom he married. The most important thing was that she be obedient.
A friend said women all liked a sense of occasion. Shen Chaoyuan scoffed, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.
But on Ming Sheng's graduation day, he still bought a ring.
Just as Shen Chaoyuan thought he had everything under control, Ming Sheng turned down his proposal.
The woman left, and Shen Chaoyuan stared at the cold ring in its box.
The next second, the ring hit the floor.
To hell with a sense of occasion!
News of Shen Chaoyuan's failed proposal swept through the entire business world.
His friends mocked him for being fooled by a woman. Shen Chaoyuan shot them a cold look. "She's just throwing a tantrum. She'll come back sooner or later."
But before she got tired of playing and came back on her own, his assistant brought him a stack of photographs. A man and a woman appeared in them, looking rather intimate.
The man was turned partly to the side, and there was something about him that felt familiar.
Looking more closely, the right side of the man's face resembled his own by about thirty percent.
Only later did Shen Chaoyuan finally understand why, whenever they got carried away, she liked to kiss the right side of his face so tenderly.
In a fit of rage, Shen Chaoyuan caused a scene at a press conference.
He even beat up a male performer newly signed by Xinyue Entertainment.
In a hospital room, a woman's worried voice and a man's gentle reply filled the air.
It seemed no one else could get between them.
For the first time, Shen Chaoyuan tasted jealousy.
P.S.:
1. The male lead really is a substitute. The male lead gets put through the wringer, and this is a groveling-to-win-her-back story.
(Yes! He's treated like a substitute, then has to chase after her himself!)
2. The heroine doesn't love the male lead at first. Her heart belongs to someone else. (Don't you dare insult my girl!)
3. Basically, it's about an innocent, sweet CEO who's deceived into giving away both his body and his heart. (Not really.)
4. [Bolded and highlighted!] Don't insult the heroine or the author. Everyone else, including the male lead, is fair game.
5. Both leads are virgins.

Synopsis:
This isn't the first time Song Yihe has accompanied her contract boyfriend, Zhou Chengye, to the birthday party of a rich young heir.
But this time, she can't shake the feeling that a pair of eyes is watching her from behind.
It feels like a carefully woven spiderweb slowly closing in on her.
She whirls around, but the feeling vanishes without a trace.
-
At the noisy birthday party, a tall figure sits on a sofa in the corner.
His handsome, cool features are unnaturally pale.
A pair of silver-rimmed glasses rests on his nose, one half in the light, the other hidden in shadow.
Dark brown eyes peer from behind the lenses, fixed on something in the distance.
Like a man-eating beast, yet also like a soul drowning in a spring of tenderness.
-
Zhou Chengye's first love has returned home early.
Just as Song Yihe is regretting that her lucrative substitute gig is about to end, Zhou Chengye tells her he has another substitute job to introduce her to.
She hears that the powerful Mr. He is known in their circle for his gentle temper and easygoing nature.
With every gesture, he seems like an ancient gentleman, all restraint and propriety.
He also likes to call her Miss Song.
But after three months as his substitute, Song Yihe begins to feel that something is off.
Mr. He seems far too invested.
When her shoelace comes undone, he'll naturally crouch down to tie it for her.
And once, when he was drunk, he suddenly leaned close to her ear and kept murmuring, "A He, A He..."
His low whispers are intensely tender and passionate.
Gentle, yet obsessive.
They always give Song Yihe the illusion that he loves her.
It seems he's forgotten:
She, Song Yihe,
is only a substitute he hired.
-
"You don't know that all my back-and-forth over the years has been because I was thinking of you."
"The moment I saw you, I finally felt what it was like to get back something I'd lost."
Content notes:
1. Includes an amnesia trope / the heroine is her own substitute.
2. The male lead is a wolf in sheep's clothing, obsessive, and good at pretending.
3. The contract boyfriend isn't real. Please don't read if this bothers you!
4. Both leads are virgins.
Theme: Relationships take work.
It's very well written. If you don't mind, I still want to talk about the shortcomings of this article (in my opinion). 1. There are too many sub-CPs and meaningless characters. If you are writing about martial arts and science fiction, group portraits would be a very good decision. However, this is a short story, and it is not good to have too many CPs in a short story. 2. The second female lead has a strong sense of presence. I can understand what the author wants to express. However, the memories of the second female lead, the second male lead, and the female lead do not need to be written directly. They can be mentioned indirectly. At least the career line of the female lead, from what I can see, is basically mixed with the second female lead. Many people who read novels have a problem, that is, they like the main point of view. If it is a TV series, everyone will be happy to watch it, but this is a novel, and everyone will be more biased towards the protagonist. If the dialogue between the heroine and the hero is deleted, this will be a story completely centered around the dead heroine. I don't know if you can understand what I mean. Come on, come on, the whole article is still very good. I found it a bit obscure at the beginning, but it gets better and better later on.
Spread flowers, cheers up, I really like this article, I look forward to seeing you in the next one
I really like this article, but I personally feel that if Lin did not fall in love with the heroine, but had a more pure image, it might be a good ending.
I don't know what to say, I hope Lin can find the right person for him
Ming Sheng's love for Lin is not much anymore, it's more of a habitual dependence and support, as well as the projection of longing for his good friend to prevent himself from completely collapsing
Here I come! This female protagonist likes it so much! I also like two men and one man!
If the second male lead had not gone abroad at that time and stayed with the female lead, would the male lead have nothing to do with her? After reading the last chapter of the extra chapter, I felt that the male protagonist liked the heroine's best friend who has passed away. In fact, he was more like a sister to her. The male protagonist was in love with the female protagonist, and the female protagonist also loved the male protagonist. It took the male protagonist a lot of time to really get into the heroine's heart.
I laughed to death, from beginning to end
You are so shameless in following through, hahahaha
Hahahaha, so cute (why didn't you reply to me, emo)
